On 18 March, BMPA CEO Nick Allen joins Food Manufacture’s panel of industry specialists to discuss the evolving landscape of the red meat, poultry and cultivated meat industry.

In his presentation, Nick will explore the resilience of red meat despite consumption pressures, and take a look at the challenges facing the pork sector and the unique situation of the lamb sector. He’ll also address one of the biggest challenges currently facing the industry: Securing enough British meat. Government policies are steering farmers away from production, leaving us increasingly reliant on imports—often from countries with lower sustainability and welfare standards. Meanwhile, opportunities for UK exports remain untapped.

And, with climate change at the forefront of the meat debate, Nick will highlight the need for a global approach—one that measures impact by consumption, not just production. There will also be a data-driven presentation from food and drink consultants Levercliff, offering insights into the future of the category—including the impact of plant-based alternatives. Don’t miss this crucial discussion on the future of our industry. 3pm Tuesday 18 March.
