Red Tractor has announced that its Chief Executive, Jim Moseley, will retire in April 2026.

Mr Moseley has led the assurance scheme since 2017, following two years as Chair. His career in the food and drink sector spans 50 years, covering roles across agriculture, food manufacturing, and trade representation.

In a statement, Moseley said that after five decades in the industry, he plans to take a step back to allow more personal time. He added that he would leave Red Tractor “in a strong position to support the future of British food and farming,” highlighting the experience and dedication of the organisation’s Board, leadership team, and employees.

Red Tractor Chair, Alistair Mackintosh, acknowledged Moseley’s contribution, noting that consumer trust in British food and participation in Red Tractor assurance are both at high levels. He said Mr Moseley would leave an organisation that is “highly motivated, financially sound and well governed.”

Moseley will remain in post until the end of the 2025/26 financial year to allow time for the recruitment of a successor. The recruitment process for a new Chief Executive will be announced in due course. You can read more and watch an interview with Jim Moseley in which he explains his reasons for retirement.
