This week Red Tractor published a full response to each of the nine strategic recommendations made by the Farm Assurance Review’s independent commissioners, and outlined the actions it will be taking towards delivering the 56 detailed recommendations. RT’s Interim Chair was also interviewed on BBC Farming Today this week.

The review’s lead commissioner Dr David Llewellyn has been appointed to oversee and monitor delivery against the recommendations and Red Tractor seem ready to make the required improvements in their technology, audit processes and communications. They have also set up a dedicated web page where they will post updates on progress.

Representing BMPA as the Industry Director on the Red Tractor board, Dean Holroyd said: “Key within this is resetting relationships with the farming community as equitable partners that are invested in delivering assurance that is agile to meet changing needs, eases the audit burden and makes greater use of technology. I look forward to using our position along with the rest of the board to seize this opportunity to deliver the much-needed actions committed to by the Red Tractor Board and leadership team as part of the FAR review.”
