The Worshipful Company of Butchers is launching a new Young Meat Industry Professionals (YMP) programme on 22nd October 2026, aimed at people under 40 working in any department of a meat or allied trades business.
The four-year programme is designed to give participants a broader understanding of the meat supply chain and opportunities to develop their knowledge, skills and industry networks. It includes industry visits, mentoring, webinars and networking with other young professionals.
The programme is open to people working across the sector, so it is not limited to those working directly in meat processing or production.
Businesses can nominate employees to take part, or individuals can apply directly. The programme could be particularly useful for businesses looking to provide additional development opportunities for early-career employees and build connections across the wider industry.
