Backing British farming means more than badges

Back British Farming Day returned to Westminster this week, but behind the familiar wheatsheaf badges are some difficult questions over profitability, trade, drought, farm support and the standards applied to imported food.

For the meat sector, the debate over Brazilian beef and the Environment Secretary’s description of farming as integral to national security are particularly noteworthy.
